The professor that was very influential during my time at the College of Education and Human Development was Dr. JoAnne Buggey. She had a way of keeping us focused on the meaningful components of education while shining a light on our passion for teaching. She truly inspired me and was instrumental in my pursuit to be a teacher.
The biggest benefit of my educational experience in CEHD is how well it prepared me to begin my educational career. Educators coming from the University of Minnesota CEHD stand out, and excel in their careers.
My favorite memory from the University of Minnesota is walking to and from class. I loved the sense of community and the changing seasons were so supportive and comforting. I especially recall hanging out on the mall on a sunny day with Northrop in the background. We bring our children back to the mall every summer to enjoy the academic atmosphere.
My family and friends. They are my foundation and are always a large part of my life.
Golf, reading, cooking and spending time with family.
I think the most important skill as an emerging professional is being flexible. The ability to embrace change and look at most things as a learning experience are priceless tools. As educators we are constantly asking our students to be risk takers and try new things. Emerging professionals, and adults should welcome these concepts as well.
I am enthusiastic and passionate about the things that are important to me.
I'm driven to continue to learn and improve as a person.
