Deciding on the right major or choosing a career is easier when you have an informed “sense of self” and know about your personality and interests. A career assessment is a set of questions or activities to help you discover what type of work you might enjoy and how you interact with other people.
There are no right or wrong answers in a career assessment. The results of your assessments can give you insights about your strengths and preferences that can inform your career journey.
Current College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) students and recent CEHD alumni (graduated 0-2 years ago) can take the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) or the Strong Interest Inventory (SII). To take one of these assessments, schedule an appointment with a CEHD Career Coach.
After you take an assessment, schedule a follow-up appointment with a CEHD Career Coach to discuss your results by calling 612-625-3339 or make an appointment online. NOTE: If you take the MBTI or SSI and are not a CEHD student/alumni, contact your college’s career office for career assessment options.
Whether or not you take an assessment, CEHD students and recent alums are encouraged to talk with a career coach about choosing majors or careers that are right for you.
