CEHD accepts transfer applications for both the fall and spring semesters.

Important reminders about your application

  • CEHD admits transfer students directly into majors.
  • Some majors will reach enrollment capacity by the priority deadline. To be sure your application is given full consideration, please submit all materials by the priority deadline. Majors which have not filled by the priority deadlines will continue to accept applications until Dec. 1 (spring admission) or June 1 (fall admission) or until the specified major fills.

1) Refer to the minimum requirements and prerequisite courses for the major you are applying to:

2) Refer to the Office of Admissions transfer application checklist and follow all steps.

  • Golden Gopher application + fee or request a fee waiver within the application.
  • Have official transcripts sent from every institution (including PSEO, CIS credits) to: UMTC Office of Admissions, 240 Williamson Hall, 231 Pillsbury Drive SE, Minneapolis, MN 55455-0213 or admissions@umn.edu.
  • Review the short answer essay prompts and instructions, prepare your responses, and then upload your responses on your application tracker.
  • Special education applicants only: Upload two letters of recommendation (one from a faculty member who can speak to your academic potential).

3) Occasionally check your application tracker for updates or additional tasks and communication about your admission decision.
