Important reminders about your application

  • CEHD admits transfer students directly into majors. See minimum requirements below.
  • Some majors will reach enrollment capacity by the priority deadline. To be sure your application is given full consideration, please submit all materials by the priority deadline. Majors which have not filled by the priority deadlines will continue to accept applications until Dec. 1 (spring admission) or June 1 (fall admission) or until the specified major fills.
  • Application review begins after the deadline. Applicants will be notified of their admission decision four to six weeks after the application deadline.

The application form will ask you to identify whether you are applying to change your college or applying for a dual degree. CEHD applicants will be prompted to complete a Transfer Application Supplement comprised of short answer questions specific to your major of interest.

If applying for a double-major with CEHD but remaining with your current college, please email cehdtrfr@umn.edu to initiate the application process. You will be sent the CEHD Application Supplement comprised of short answer questions specific to your double-major.

Information sessions

All prospective transfer students are encouraged to attend a Zoom information session. Each session is led by a transfer admissions staff member, who provides an overview of the application process, tips for applying, next steps, and an opportunity to ask questions.
